Booking & Availability

How many cottages do you have and what's the difference between them?

We have 14 charming cottages, each reflecting one of three decorative themes: Nature, Artist, and Modern. All of our cottages have the same amenities including a king bed, spa style bathroom with made in house bath and body products, microwave, and mini fridge.

The Garden House offers a spacious retreat perfect for groups and families. Enjoy the comfort of: 

Great question! It depends on the time of year. If you plan to visit in March – May or September – October, we recommend booking your accommodations 45-60 days out.

Absolutely! Our sumptuous linens and spa-inspired touches throughout our accommodations are sure to leave you relaxed.

You bet! Expect an adorable breakfast basket to be delivered to your porch each morning between 8:00 – 8:30 am.

Absolutely! We have complimentary WiFi and air conditioning to help you beat the Texas heat! 

We have two parking lots available for our guests. We recommend that guests staying in Cottages 1-3 and 11-14 park in the second/back parking lot and Cottages 4-10 park in the first/front parking lot.

At the time of your booking, we will take a 50% deposit. 14 days prior to your arrival, we will charge for the remaining balance.

Cancel 15 days or more prior to your your stay for a $75 fee. Any cancellations 14 days or less prior to your arrival will not be refunded. 

No pets are allowed on property, but ADA service animals are welcome.

No. We are a smoke-free property.

Please report it. Per policy, guests will be charged for damages on the card on file. 

The Garden House is a great place to stay if you are bringing your children! We do not have cots available for the cottages. 

Yes! Cottage #1 is accessible.

You can let us know by entering that information during your booking, or you can give us a call! Please call at least 24 hours in advance to let us know. 

Check-in & Check-out

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check in is at 3 pm or later and check out is 11 am. Please inquire about early check-ins and late check outs as availability for this varies.

No problem at all! We have contactless check in, so you will receive your door code information via text on the day of you check in. Although we have contactless check in, don’t hesitate to stop by the spa or restaurant during operating hours if you have questions. Our team is happy to help! You can also respond to your check in text message if you have any issues or have questions after hours. 

We have two parking lots available for our guests. We recommend that guests staying in Cottages 1-3 and 11-14 park in the second/back parking lot and Cottages 4-10 part in the first/front parking lot. 


The Garden House has dedicated parking of its own. Go past our back parking lot, turn left on the first street, then you will see the Garden House at the end of the street on your left.


Because we have contactless check in, feel free to get settled in right away! We welcome you to walk the grounds and stop in the restaurant, spa, or Marigold gift shop during operating hours.

No, but we highly recommend reservations – especially for weekend brunch!

What type of cuisine do you serve?

American and internationally inspired cuisine. 

We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. 

Yes, we do change our menu seasonally. Always check our website for the most up to date menu items. 

While we grow a wide variety of herbs on property, we cannot keep up enough to supply our culinary department. However, our herbs grown onsite are often used at the bar!

Yes! We have children’s menus with coloring activities for children.

What is Garden Buzz Happy Hour?

Join us every Friday and Saturday from 5-6 to enjoy drink specials in the restaurant for our Garden Buzz Happy Hour! Grab a drink and enjoy the air conditioning or enjoy your drink during a stroll around the gardens. We have plenty of places to stop and relax on our grounds!

What are your bar hours?

Our bar is open when our restaurant is open. Check website for most up to date hours.

Absolutely! Have a seat at the bar and enjoy. 

Of course! We love our partnerships with local Texas wineries and are happy to serve their wine. Ask our bartenders about their favorites!

Spa Services and Policies

What spa services do you offer?

We offer a variety of services: massage, facials, head spa, waxing, and body treatments like scrubs, gua sha, and wraps.. All our spa guests can access our infrared sauna after their treatment if they’d like. We offer infrared sauna monthly memberships as well. 

Yes, our spa books up rather quickly, especially during the spring and fall. Please schedule as far in advance as possible.

Absolutely! Our spa is open to the public.

For your spa visit, expect to be greeted warmly by our staff. They will show you to the locker room area. Your therapist will walk you to your treatment room and prepare you for what to expect. Then all you have to do is relax and enjoy. Afterwards you can rest in our Relaxation Room, then hit the infrared sauna and showers if you’d like!

Cancellations made 48 hours or less before a scheduled service appointments will be subject to a charge fee of 50% of the service rate. Customers who miss their appointment without prior notice will be subject to a charged the full amount for the services booked.

We will do our best to accommodate guests staying on-site, but we recommend scheduling your spa appointment as soon as you make your lodging reservation. 

Come comfortable and ready to relax. We recommend being hydrated for your appointment and continuing hydration throughout the day.

Private Events

Can I host a private event at Hill Country Herb Garden?

Hill Country Herb Garden is perfect for hosting your private event!

We can accommodate all sorts of private events! From weddings and rehearsal dinners to birthday celebrations to corporate retreats, our team is here to help you plan a memorable event. 

You can reserve the entire property for your private event to have exclusive access to all our indoor and outdoor spaces. 

We do provide catering for our events through the restaurant.

We welcome creative partners and vendors, but due to our licensing all food and beverage service must be provided by Hill Country Herb Garden.

It really depends on the size of your event and the time of year. Don’t let timing keep you from reaching out – even with a short turnaround, we will do our best to make your event possible!

Group Bookings

Do you offer group rates for cottage bookings?

Yes! We offer group bookings. To reserve a room block, all 14 cottages must be booked. The Garden House is optional and may be added separately. For more information, click here.

What attractions are nearby?

We are a short drive from Main St full of opportunities to shop and explore different tasting rooms! Head to Wine Road 290 to explore the many wineries of the Hill Country – or schedule yourself a wine tour.

If you’re into the outdoors, we recommend hiking at Enchanted Rock. For a shorter hike head to Cross Mountain. 

Hill Country Herb Garden in Fredericksburg, TX, is ideally located just a short drive—roughly 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the winery—into the heart of the Texas Hill Country wine region along Highway 290. Here’s a breakdown:

Into History? Fredericksburg has lots to explore for history buffs. The National Museum of the Pacific War is definitely a favorite.

Opting for the outdoors? There’s lots to explore – especially during wildflower season!

Need a cowboy hat to commemorate your Texas trip? Head to Felt Boutique and make a personalized straw or felt hat!
